MODBUNKS use standard U.S. mattress sizes. No box spring required—our slat system supports the mattress directly. We recommend 6–8″ thick mattresses on upper bunks to maintain proper guardrail height.

Aim for at least 30″ of clearance between the top mattress and ceiling. Required ceiling height ≈ bed height + mattress thickness + 30″. If you’re unsure, ask us and we’ll confirm based on your configuration.

Yes—when used as intended. Always use the included guardrails and slats, and ensure the top-bunk mattress leaves at least 5″ of guardrail above the mattress surface. The top bunk is generally recommended for ages 6+.

Our bunks are free-standing and stable on a level floor. In high-activity spaces, you may choose to add optional anchoring—reach out and we can advise based on your room and configuration.

Most families assemble a MODBUNK in 60–120 minutes with two adults. Clear instructions and labeled parts are included.
